Base System Device
Hi,
My Acer Aspire E1-531 does not detect USB nor SD Card (I tried my camera and my smartphone - not working; the external hard drive works). After researching on different forums (I don't know much about computers), I checked the Device manager: the Base System Device's icons are marked with a yellow exclamation mark. As updating the drivers was not possible, I downloaded CardReader_Broadcom_15.0.7.2_W7x86x64 drivers from Acer Support website. However, when I started the setup, the wizard was interrupted before the installation was complete. I could not solve the problem. Any ideas about what might have gone wrong? Thank you.
Best,
Staša

Good morning.
Assuming you have installed Windows 7 and you are presenting problems with USB port and SD card reader.
I recommend you download and install chipset driver.Chipset.
USB Ports 3.0.
Then reboot the system and check the operation of the USB ports.
I hope you find it useful the information provided and you achieve solve the problem you present.
Have a great day! Greetings!^^

Thank you for your answer. I had tried with CHipset as well. The problem is the same: wizard interrupted. Any other ideas?

Controllers where the exclamation point is yellow, right-click Uninstall.
Then at the top click on the menu: Action> Scan for hardware changes.
So the native Windows drivers will be reinstalled, reboot the system and see if you return to work.
Stay tuned for the answer.

about wizard stopping, if you have any antivirus running, please disable and retry.
if you get the same error, please report HardwareID here:
Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager.
If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.Where you see the Yellow exclamation mark, double click it, choose "Details" tab, from the dropdown menu choose "HardwareIDs", click the first string and copy/paste it here.
