I have an acer 5750-6636. It said 100% fully charged consider replacing the battery. So I purchased the exact acer replacement battery by a store recomended from acer and when I put it in it says 37% plugged in not charging. I contacted the store and they said to leave it plugged in for 24 hours (????). This doesn't seem right to me does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? o.k. updaate..Waited 24 hours new battery still not charging but works if plugged in I'm down to 17% battery left. HELP I can't unplug my laptop to take with me. Some one have ANY suggestions.

    Try the below mentioned steps:
    1. Shut Down your laptop, then plug-off the power adapter, and then remove the battery from your laptop.
    2. Now, keep the Power button on your laptop gently pressed for around 40 seconds.
    3. Reconnect the power adapter without inserting the battery.
    4. Power On the laptop.
    5. Once you are into Windows, Shut it down again.
    6. Now, remove the power adapter, then reseat the battery, then reconnect the power adapter, and then reboot again.

If the issue still persists, there may be some issue with your battery. It is recommended to try using a spare battery (if possible) or contact nearest Acer Service Center for further assistance. This link can be useful:

    Hope this will help you.

Thank you for your reply and trying to help but I just tried this and it did not work. I did it with the old battery and the new battery. Sooo frustrating!!!
