does anyone have a K272HUL monitor that goes grayscale in use ?? I have the solution to bug

...there is a bug. Enter the monitor's settings using the buttons on the lower right. DISABLE the "video detect" setting and all will be OK. Previous to finding the solution on a little known website, my screen would fade into grayscale, while the "active" portion would remain in color. This happened despite having the most recent NVidia driver and being properly connected via either an HDMI 1.4 connection, OR, with the Display port connection. 

   All is great now running at 2560 x 1440p at 60 fps !!

 

Acer MUST notify buyers of this BUG !!!

    This has been driving crazy for a while now. I tried contacting XFX and AMD about it since I hadn't seen it on any other of my systems. I thought it might be one of them.And you are right. ACER should put out a notice indicating what the problem and the fix is. (having said that; they should also indicate what the pros and cons of doing that might be.)
