Black + white screen, unresponsive

So, I stepped away from my Aspire V3 for about 15 minutes and when I returned, my screen was black and white, and unresponsive to keyes, mouse, and power button. The scree seemed to have some sort of movement which would make it more white than black... or something. Not really sure how to best descrie it, but here is a photo. The white portion moved across the screen. I had to close the lid and then restart the computer. Any idea what might have caused this?

When you shut down the computer the static charges are drained most of the times. However in some cases the charges are not drained and they will get accumulated. The power drain procedure ( removing and inserting the battery) will drain these charges and the issue would be resolved.
