Sporadic two-finger scrolling in Chrome

What's up everybody!

I have a weird case of scrolling behavior in Chrome and Opera browsers. When I do the usual two-finger scrolling, the page "twitches" and "wiggles", sometimes you can see how it tries to increase the scale but then changes its mind - and weird squares around the place, where the cursor used to be, appear and disappear randomly. Almost like the page is not sure if I am scrolling, pinching or just moving the cursor. Worst part, quickly those squares go to the edge of the screen and scrolling simply stops, even the weird sporadic one.

Firefox and IE scroll properly, with no apparent problems. Other Windows software scroll properly.

The touchpad manufaturer is ALPS, the driver is the latest that tech support could give me. Deep in the driver options, there is an option called Zoom Perfect. When I disable it, scrolling in Chrome starts working as it should - but then two-finger scrolling in other places, like Windows Start Screen stops working at all.

Anyone haв problems like that before? Any known solutions? Thanks in advance.

    baalexis,

Thanks for the update. If you are only having this propblem using specific browsers I would recommend you check for updates for them to make sure you are using the latest versions.

Usually the browser manufacturer's actually have bug reports you can file with them to report issues, that is a good place to start to make sure they are aware and can work on a fix for their users.

Thanks for the advice! I will submit a ticket to Chrome developers.

However, it's not like everything else in the system responds perfectly to two-finger scrolling. I think the driver of the touchpad just needs to be updated. The version of my driver is 8.103.2020.206 - and it dates back to 2013.

The biggest problem is THERE IS NO DRIVERS FOR ALPS TOUCHPADs on Acer's support pages. There are drivers for Elantech and Synaptics - no ALPS. So I cannot really update anything. How can this be?

    baalexis,

If you change the operating system to Windows 8.1 in the drop down menu for your product the ALPS drivers are listed.
