RAM upgrade not detected

I own an Acer Aspire E1-571-6856 Intel i5, originally 4gb of ram upgradable to 8gb, hd4000 graphics.

I bought an 8gb memory kit from crucial specific for my laptop model.

I put the RAM in the memory slots, but when I went to the control panel, system tab it still says I only have 4gb of RAM. Also I went to BIOS and it also says I only have 4gb of RAM instead of 8gb of ram.

Why is the extra 4gb of RAM not detected?

I just wasn't pushing hard enough to get the RAM module in place.

your PC is max supported 8G ram,so your PC may have limited ram size by chipset

    Hello BDC643,

According to the models of Aspire E1-571, they support up to 2x4Gb DDR3 or DDR3L.

Could you give the part number of the original memory sticks of 2Gb?

You'll find it under the barcode. These are the first ten characters (ex: KN.2GB##.##).

I also need the part number of the 8gb Crucial memory kit.
