I have tried two different methods, A "VGA to Component" cable which oddly gave me a picture only when you press CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the options (for example TASK MANAGER), but even then the picture was kinda red and distorted to a cerntain extent.

The other method was "VGA to HDMI" which I couldn't get anything.

My TV is a Emerson LC320EMX and supports these PC signals according to the manual.

I've tried setting the display settings to Duplicate and also Extended and it hasn't helped, I even tried updating the display drivers but it tells me its already got the best driver installed or something, I also read others saying that rebooting the laptop with the VGA cable plugged in solved their problem but it hasn't worked for me.

Thanks for the help, I guess thats why Acer has a community, it gives them an excuse not to help people with their problems, they force people to rely on other community members who apparently arent qualified to answer people, what a waste of a time registering.

    Sorry mcasdorph,

The continued conversation you created made it look like there is activity on the thread and we may have looked over this one.

I might suggest focusing on VGA to VGA just to ensure the ports work, and it doesn't present that red grainy view all the time as you mentioned. Secondly, in your screen resolution page in Windows there is Advanced Settings, and you should have an Intel Control Center tab (or something similiarly named). You may need to adjust settings here to force the extended/clone view as well.

    Hope this helps,
    Cory
