Whenever I unplug my laptop and continue doing my work, the laptop dies at 80%. I've tried to change the power plans and everything but it still dies at 50-80% without warning.

I got the same problem with Aspire S7. Every once in a while it just shuts down.

    Tinkerer

Same Issue here with my acer aspire s3 too. Temporary fix that I've found was stopping the "Power" Service under windows services.

    Press Win+R (Opens Run Window)

    type msconfig

under startup services disable 'Power' service

    restart.

Note: You won't able to change sceen brightness or power settings after disabling power service

Did you find a resolution because I have the same issue?

I would run BatteryInfoView from NirSoft and set to logging at about 5 or 10 second intervals. Run until it quits. See what was reported just before it stops. That may have a clue to what is happening.
