AG3 605 UR1D GTX 970

I recently bought the Zotac GTX 970 4GB version.

I own the 605-UR1D, with a 500w power supply. However, It says 484 max on the power supply. I was running the graphics card fine, until I checked the tempature. At first, the graphics card tempature was only going up - It reached a maximum of 90 degrees celsuis if i remember.

After a few minutes , the CPU and Motherboard tempatures started rising fast. It was reaching 68 degrees celsuis - It might have gone higher, but I cant remember.

I have heard that It's usually OK for most computers to run at these tempatures, but I'm not so sure about the 605-UR1D

If I can get some help before I decide to return this in a few days, that would be awesome.

Looking at some online pictures, i saw that a rear fan is missing and probably a front one too is missing.

i would add a fan in the back to help extract hot air from the chassis and one in the front (if possibile) to help cool air intake.

Hello,

As IronFly said, all Aspire G3-605 models have no case fan (system fan). For this reason, it's very important that the side air intake is unobstructed.

Your motherboard is this one:

DB.SPX11.001

MAIN BD.WO/1394/V1/0.LF (see the picture)

You can install a case fan (D80 or D92) in using the system fan connector near the Cmos battery:

3 pins --> 0,+12, Tachymeter

4 pins --> 0,+12, Tachymeter, PWM

Note:

Don't forget the static pressure.

Do you have the Acer Thermal Module in the bios setup utility?

Okay, I went out and purchased a fan for the back. Should I have the airflow on the fan going in or out?

I'm going to add something to this topic today.

Everything has been working fine, but I noticed the temperature of my motherboard was around 68 degrees celsuis while playing a game last night. Is this temperature safe?
