Today my AIO went kaput! Refuses to power up for no reason. Power Cord is working fine.

Here are some steps to perform:

    • Remove power from the desktop.
    • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    • Plug power back in to the desktop.
    • Press the power button to turn on the desktop.

All-in-Ones with internal battery (as applicable):

    • Look for a battery reset pinhole near the power port for the desktop.
    • Plug power back in to the desktop.

    Hi Acer-Justin!

But what if this solution won't work?

My laptop won't power up (battery is flat but the charger/adaptor works fine, i have tried it on another laptop). I have tried this above mentioned solution but the laptop is still not powering up / shows no sign of life when i press power on.

Any suggestions what might solve the problem?

    It's an Aspire 5735.

    jf1,

If the battery is not showing a charge while the system is powered off there could be a couple issues:

Check the charging port on the notebook to make sure it is a snug fit. If it is loose, the port pin itself could be damaged and not making a good connection.

The battery "could" be defective, doubtful, but it could be.

Got the same problem on my all in one but these fixes didn't seem to work.. how can you tell if your computer has a battery internally and is there any other common issues that cause no sign of power? I've tested the power cord the port and the power button and I am getting power into the mother boarc
