I have a brand new Predator G3-605-UR11. I don't like all of the adware and additional software installed. I removed most of it and it has caused me endless hassles. Somehow the removal seemed to make the system unstable and have hard crashes.

I've decided to do a clean install of Windows 8.1 Professional. Is there any problem with this? Do I need any special drivers or will Windows Update grab evrerything I need.

It's not completely clear what you mean by clean install.  I'm going to assume you've purchased Windows 8.1 Pro seperately since your computer came with Windows 8.1.

It probably won't be a big deal if you do a clean install with Windows 8.1 Pro, but you never know since Acer sometimes uses custom drivers for the graphics.  But the first thing you should do before doing a clean install is to create a USB media recovery drive.  Use a 32 GB flash thumb drive.  16 GB is cutting it too close imo.

Follow the instructions in the link below for creating a recovery USB flash drive.

If you've already done the clean install without creating a recovery USB drive...and you've wiped out the recovery partition, you'd need to buy your recovery disks from Acer if you ever wanted to put your computer back in it's original factory condition......ie when you took it out of the box.

If you've already done the the clean install, you can try drivers from Acer, Windows updates, or the manufacturer of the component.
