I need to purchase back up disks for my Acer desktop operating system. HOW DO YOU CONTACT ACER?

I have an older Acer desktop, 2008 which has failed and there is no way to fix it without the back up disks for the operating system.  (This is the component that was the subject of a class action law suit against Acer)  I want to buy them but can find no way to contact customer service directly.  I have called every number that I can find with no help...I was told by a technician that there is no such thing available. (I know the folks who won the lawsuit are going to be upset, because these disks are to be awarded to all in the class!!)  I was told that it could be remotely accessed for repair by Acer for around $130  I was told to take it to a shop in Great Britain.  Since I live in the US, this was a little far to go.  I have tried to have the information (several thousand photos) retrieved on an  an external hard drive but since the operating system is dead...I am unable to get to the information.  The computer has been in the shop for 12 weeks now while I have tried over and over to find someone in customer service.  A computer answering machine told me that my computer's serial number was not one of theirs and then it hung up on me.  When I called back the computer told me that I had called before about this matter and hung up on me again..  Maybe somewhere out there, someone who  has been able to make contact with the wizard of Acer behind the curtain and will share this information with me...  Thanks  C J S

go to store.acer.com, the phone number is on their site. you can call and check if they have the disk, if they don't they may be able to give you some info on who does.

My AOA110 was purchased in 2009 and I've recently contracted the boot BSOD for the second time. The first resulted in sending the unit to Acer for warranty repair, as they wanted an unacceptable price for "recovery disks," which should've been part of the original package. I also was part of the class-action lawsuit and filled the paperwork requesting recovery disks, but never received anything. I'll watch this thread in hopes that someone will find a solution. Otherwise I have no course of action except to throw the computer in the garbage, and if I must resort to that I can promise as IT mgr. here that no Acer product will set foot in this office again. (I made this threat in another thread and I mean it.)

    Hello.

Why just not download same version of Windows what you have before on your pc, serial number is on back cover your laptop, so if it will be same version , like for example Windows 7 Home proffesional, key will be work without problems. Drivers you will be able download from acer download page. That is the easy way to have working machine.

P.S. What with Recovery Partition? You should be able to factory default from boot ( after acer logo push F10 till you get recovery screen).
