Acer Aspire E5 will not boot past Acer logo

Hey,, maybe someone can help me.  The other day I installed HP drivers for an officejet and the next day my computer will not boot past the Acer logo.  I'm not sure if installing the drivers caused the issue but it was the last thing that I stilled.  However,  after searching (iphone) for ways to fix this I have managed to get to the recovery screens.  I've tryed a few things like, go to adv setting and reset the computer but it fails.  The last thing that I've done was to boot in safe mode, I'll see when I get home where I stand with that.  It takes so long to go thru these menus I don't have the time to set there and wait before going to work..

Can you suggest options for me to try?  Let me know if I can provide specific information, just let me know..

Acer E5-521-23KH-US

Thanks

    cootgood,

If you can get the notebook into safe mode you should be able to perform a system restore to before you installed those files and see if that works. If not, you can try the refresh option to try and fix operating system files or restore option to reset the system to factory defaults. If you try all these items and they all fail it could be a hardware problem, such as a hard drive.

thanks for the reply Justin,  I have seriously tried everything in Startup Repair including trying to get to safe mode but nothing worked until last night.  for the 3rd time I selected to Reset the computer (first 2 times failed) I left it running over night and woke up to see that windows was asking me to enter computer data like language, time zone, etc.. I then got excited to believe that I've broken thru something that was causing the problem.  Well, because of the amount of time it takes to setup each catagory of questions I left it after setting up my network password and hoping only a few more things are left to do.. fingers X.   I'm still scratching my head on what was causing the problem to begin with.  The last known thing that I done was load drivers for a HP printer with wifi.

Thanks for the update, hope it works fine for you after you get through all the initial information needed when setting it up.

well well well,,, I believe I do have a bad hard drive.

I got thru all the installation and everything is back to its original state but its running very very slow, freeze, lag, etc...  And I'm getting the Microsoft Windows popup saying that "Windows detected a hard disk problem".  Asking to "Start the backup process" or "Ask me again later".  So, I select "Ask me again later" so if I return it the technician will see this popup as well

Do you agree that I should go ahead and return it?  My warrantee is still valid until November 2015

    Thanks

    cootgood,

It does sound like a defective hard drive. You actually have a couple options available since you are in warranty, shoot me a PM and I'll have someone get in contact with you to provide some options.
