My Aspire 5600U all in one spontaneously shuts down when not in use. It doesn't hibernate or sleep.

My Aspire 5600U all in one is about 2 years old. Yesterday, it started shutting itself off after a few hours of not being used.

 

My power settings are set to turn the monitor off after 15 minutes, sleep afte 30 minutes and turn the hard drive off never.

 

I have never modified my power settings since I got the computer. 

 

My wife says its because we got a new router but there can't be any connection. Can there?

 

Anyway, it is a pain to go to work on the compter and have to reboot it with a full cold star every time. Anybody have any idess how to fix this?

 

I can work on it for hours without the machine switching off so I don't think it is an overheating problem.

 

Appreciated any ideas naybody has.

If it just started having this problem youcan try to perform a system restore to when it was working properly and work forward from there, it could have been a Windows update that caused the issue to start occurring.

 

Another thing you can try is go into your power options and reset them to defaults, then go through and make sure everything is set to what you want.
