Put 8g Memory into es1-512 but won't boot. Had to put 4g back in. Anyone else have this problem?

Put 8g Memory into ES1-512 but won't boot. Specs say that it will accept up to 8 gig. Took it out, re seated it multiple times with no success. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance.
