Hi all,

I created a new account on my Acer only to allow access to shared directories. It's to allow someone to access directories on the PC from an Android HDMI dongle to download movies to the dongle.

I chose the directory and activate the share with, chose the new account and ...

When I try to access this directory with ES Explorer on Android 4.4 the login or password is (are) not accepted.

It'es just loke if some permisions are not set correctly.

My own shared folders can be accessed very easily with the same application so the problem is with the new directories/user

Any ideas ?

Thanks

    anthony270268,

Just to clarify, you are attempting to transfer files via the HDMI cable? If so, that's going to be a problem as HDMI only transmits sound and video. You have to use a USB cable to transfer data, which means you'll most likely have to set the tablet to mass storage device settings to do so. You might not have to do it, but in case it doesn't have the correct drivers, we have an article that discusses how to connect your Android device to your Windows based computer.

??? to transfer files using the HDMI cable ????

After so many years using computers... I know I'm not very young now but I'm not senile yet!

I'm just blocked in my need to share a fes folders on my Windows 7 to acces it from my HDMI key under Androïd 4.4.

I have a SMB client on the key but cannot acces those folders. The same happens from my Archos tablet. Users and/or login are not accepted for the created user on Windows.

If I try to access my shared folders (admin) I have no problems.

    anthony270268,

Maybe I dont understand fully what you are trying to do. Could you elaborate what you are trying to do via the HDMI cable a little more clearly? My understanding of what you are trying to do is transfer data through the HDMI cable, which isn't what HDMI cables do.

Are you trying to stream videos from one computer (media server) to another through the network and the computer that is pushing the display is using HDMI?

Windows 7 uses homegroup technology, if that's what you are having problems with.

Hi, I really understand nothing about your hdmi cable stuff...

I'm trying to acces from android 4.4 shared folders created on my PC.

    Re-read my initial post please...

I can access my shared folders from the android 4.4 but not folders shared with another account on the same machine.

The second account on the PC is not an admin account. Mine yes...

    Hope it'es lcearer now

    Thanks.

It's not clear if you are talking about a HDMI dongle or a USB dongle.  I suppose it's not relevant.

Try the link below.  Please don't modify your registry if you're not experienced doing something like that.  Just use the fixit.  (Vista, 7, and 8 work differently than windows xp).

or try google or a windows forum if you have no success here.
