Can't read my product key
Hello. I am new to this community.
I have a problem with my laptop. Hard disk is broken and I cant read my product key.
If I had the key its no problem reinstalling my Windows 7 Home Premium OEM. I have read somewhere that Acer can give me the number if they know the serial number witch is 100% readable on my computer.
How do I preceed to get it from Acer?
Peter

Hi Peter,
Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide the product key based on your serial number but reloading with Acer OEM recovery media would be able to activate Windows.
Did you happen to create a set of recovery media?
Thanks,

Sorry for my delay. As most of us I had not made any disks.
Normally its possible to reinstall from an OEM of same type as it was before by using the reg key. I only have to call Intel to get it validated over the phone. I have made it a lot of times before on other and on friends laptops and towers.
I have read on internet that Acer could get me the reg key if it was unreadable by giving them the serial number, but that was maybe wrong.
I have now installed a fake Windows 7 instead and it works ok for me. I like clean installs olso.
