Switch 12 replace wifi network adapter

I'm having wifi issues with this, dropping wifi connections when there's interference etc.

It's not as bad as the Acer W700 (I know, should've learned my lesson), but it's below the performance of other devices I have.

Has anyone opened the case to see if it's possible to change the wireless network adapter (or even the ssd)?

Is it just plug and play, e.g. buy an Intel mini pci adapter?

If so, please share instructions.

Thanks

    Hi...

Could you check the wireless driver version on the tablet?

Press and hold the Windows key and then press the X key. Click on Device Manager.
Click on the arrow mark near the option "Network Adapters".
Right click on "Wireless Network Adaptor" and select "Properties". A new window will popup.
Click on the 'Driver' tab and let us know the wireless card vendor name and driver version.

    Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222

    Driver 10.0.0.298

I heard some models have ac-compatible wifi but mine is a  5Y10a CPU model with 4gb ram and 128gb ssd.

That is the same chipset and driver that I have. Am about 30 ft from the wiredless N router and getting 36 Mb/s down. Inssider is showing -59db.  Better than my 8" tabs.

Am running on channel 9 to avoid interference in my area. It is good to know what channels others in you area are using.

I checked the channels and there is a lot of interference as I'm in an apartment.

The issue is that all my other devices (Android phones, samsung and dell notebooks) connect without dropping but this Switch 12 (and Acer W700) can't cope. Hence the idea to buy a new 30 dollar wna mini pci like the Intel 7260.

OK I am showing A/B/G/N capable. Did you open device manager>network adapeters>Qualcomm... and turn off all power management features in Advanced and uncheck the Power Management "allow computer to turn off" ?

All power to maximum...In wifi advanced settings and battery settings.

The other laptops don't need to run on maximum and have power saving enabled.

I also have an aspire switch 12 .Found the wifi abysmal(when other devices worked fine from the same range) ended up buying a belkin surf n300 usb wireless adapter. Plugged that it and from that get the level of wifi reception that i require
