Can i update bios on a ao756?

I bought AO756 one week ago. It works perfectly.
Currently the BIOS version is V1.02 date 04/26/2012
I downloaded the version V1.09 date 12/11/2012 trying to find the change log, but only find one text file saying: "Please click Q1VZC109.exe to update bios."

I don't run it because red label in the web said:
"Updating an incorrect BIOS may cause harm to your system. We recomend that you only do this after being instructed by one of our Customer Care representatives. By using these updates you agree to accept the possibility of product failure."

The system spec is
Acer AO756
Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 987 @ 1.50GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit Service Pack 1

Actually I wanted to know if the upgrade could improve battery life or performance.

Battery life is not addressed with the BIOS update.

"Performance" is a widely varying request and could mean one of a dozen things.

In this instance, I do think that updating from 1.02 to 1.09 could be a good idea, given the time frame spanned.
