    manuforlife,

Would you provide me the specific model of the system you are having issues with so I can research this for you? According to your post you are using a 802.11n wireless card, that isn't a 5.0 GHz capable card. For a wireless card to be able to connect to 5.0GHz connections, it would have to be an A or AC card. We created this article to help customers understand what to look for when it comes to this sort of question.

    manuforlife,

What's the part number of the system you have, that will give me the specific model to loook for. 802.11n cards working on 5.0 GHz channels is an optional feature that wasn't implemented for all cards used. I'd like to research this for you, if you can provide me with the part number and we'll start there.

    manuforlife,

I've researched this and the wireless card that is installed does not support the 5.0 GHz channels, only the 2.4 GHz ones. You can change the card out if you'd like to one that would support it, but that functionality wasn't implemented on the card that's installed from Acer.

So could you advise me what type of wireless card I could get to replace this current one for my desktop model ? If I ownself change is my desktop warranty will get void? Because it is still under warranty. Onsite , labour and parts are still cover. Thanks

    manuforlife,

Your warranty will not be voided if you change a part out. If something is damaged during a hardware change then an out of warranty charge will need to be paid to get it repaired by Acer if you are still in warranty. I don't have specific cards that I can recommend, but if you look for wireless cards that are A or AC those will certainly work on the 5 GHz connection.

    manuforlife,

While we have an Acer Store, I do not believe there is one in your area.... yet. I did a little scouring and found a part number for one of our G3620 models that has the 5.0 GHz card, if you want to see if you can track it down, I've sent it via a PM.

    manuforlife,

Check your PM that I sent, it has the part number we use in one of our G3620 systems that supports 5.0 GHz. Smiley Happy
