Please tell me I didn't [mess] up my BIOS

I've had a sound crackling and popping problem due to latency and I found out using google that BIOS update might solve it. My BIOS version was 1.04 and there were new ones ( 1.07, 1.08, 1.09, 1.11, 1.23, 1.24 or something like that). I downloaded all of them and started updating one by one. The first 4 update was nice and quick but when I was at version 1.11 and started the 1.23 update my laptop restarted like normal, entered the BIOS screen, my fans started rapidly spinning, just like it did with the first 4 updated, however, the screen went black after it went up to 100% and it has been black since (this happened like 4-5hours ago). The fans are still spinning and the laptop is working but I don't know if it is normal that this is taking so long. I don't want to risk forcing it to turn off because the installer said that while it is installing don't turn off and don't do stuff like that. Please guys, help me.

I've unplugged it, turned it on again and it seems to be working just fine and the BIOS update was succesful as well. I've installedthe last one too and everything is working and my BIOS is up to date.

It is amazing how many solutions to problems are answered with 'update the BIOS'. I would say the likelihood is generally zero to slim!

There is no need to incrementally update a BIOS - ever. If, as in your case, you were at 1.04 and you wanted 1.24, then go straight to 1.24.

Be aware that whenever you perform a BIOS update you should immediately reset to default settings. Once done, you can of course set the BIOS to meet your requirements (so make a note of your settings prior to update). This is necessary to avoid possible issues where the updated BIOS stores its data at different locations to the previous one due to functions being added, removed or revised.
