I am Jason from UK.

Ex VMS/SCL/JCL/Cobol/RPG/DCL when those meant something.

So yes I am a retarded pensioner Smiley Happy

I am currently regretting purchasing at what I thought a reasonable cost my Iconia Tab 10 A3-A20.

I mistakenly believed that Acer were customer and futre proof focused with their devices.

[for another £50 I could have bought a half decent laptop and ported my Win 7 from my (10 years) old Acer)] !!

I purposely purchased an Android device having heard how the OS was frequently upgraded and that devices within 2 years could be simply ported to the later version.

Oh OH! What a boob I feel now.

I should have stuck with MS and bought a Windows Tablet. OK I know every couple of releases they threaten no more support, but that usually means you can upgrade 1 or 2 versions of OS before having to upgrade your hardware to the latest specs for the newest OS.

But it seems that with Acer and other Android Tablet / Phone manufacturers they "EXPECT" us to upgrade, sorry "throw away and purchase new"if we want the latest features.  Simple with phones if you are happy to be tied in to a contract!

BUT for many of us, pensioners, low paid, unemployed, families, this is not a simple solution, therefore we are misled by companies like Samsung, Acer regarding their Android products with NO Android upgrade path.

Mind you. It is good to see {NOT} that hardare vendors have not changed their attitudes towards customers

Spoiler
I was going to recommend the Acer to my fellow residents where I am giving PC advice as many of them have never owned a PC and some stil wish they had typewriters Smiley Happy
