My keyboard has stopped working properly.

Member Posts: 3 New User

My keyboard has stopped working properly. Sometimes this occurs on startup so I cannot even log on. Sometimes I can log on and it stop working whilst using.

I have already replaced the keyboard as the one I was using was old but it has made no difference.

Any ideas?

  • Hello Northerner,

1- Do you have a desktop or an AIO?

2- Have you tried to ""Load optimazed defaults" or "Load default settings" in the bios setup utility?

3- Have you tried to do a Clear CMOS?

4- Do you have the same issue with a USB Flash drive or another USB device?

5- Do you have a PS/2 keyboard or USB-PS/2 adapter?

    Hi Laurent,

    1. I have a desktop ACER Apire XC-603.

    2. Tried that. I still cannot boot up the computer from a CD which I wanted to do to reset the computer back to a previous image (Macrium Reflect).

    3. How do I do that?

    4. No.

    5. USB.

    Thanks for that.

I have tried reinstalling the keyboard driver which may work but why can I not boot up from a CD?

    Northerner.

    Hello Northerner,

In the bios setup utility, check this (try one by one):

    1- F12BootMenu  [Enabled]

2- You are probably in UEFI Boot so change in Legacy Boot and disable Secure Boot too.
