The sticker on my Acer 11 CB3-111 says it's 802.11ac capable.

How can I tell how it's connecting.

BYW, I greatly appreciate the simplicity and fast booting of the Chromebook and realize some aspects of a regular PC are not here.  But, if there is a way . . . .

Is there a way to confirm that you are getting the best speed or it's all automatic?

You are correct in that the wireless adapter in the CB3-111 Chromebook supports 802.11ac (2x2 mode), it is also supports the older protocols, so drops down to whatever speed your networl supports. The actual connection is negotiated with your wireless router and should be completely automatic, giving you the best speed allowed.
