please help!

hi everyone, i have a brand new acer aspire E 11 that i truly want to smash to pieces with a hammer. no kidding.

i havent even been able to use it. it's locked and i cant fix it. when i go to log in on it the first page has my name and Correct email address. then i'm supposed to put in a password. i havent set up a password for it yet. i havent been able to even get past the log in page. when i put in a password then i am on a page that says "you PC is offline. please sign in with the last password used on this pc."   i Havent Used a password on this pc. i havent gotten far enough to Set one. how can i bypass this page and set a password. actually i dont even need for it to ever be locked. oh, can someone help?  thanks ahead, andi

It sounds like you're saying this happened in first setup and you have not been able to boot into Windows at all?

If this is true,  you have the option of returning it for replacement or refund.

Since  Laptop is locked and you can perform  Factory reset from the Login screen in Windows 8.

Please follow the below steps to reset your computer.

 

You can reset your password from another computer if you sign into Windows using your email address. To reset your password if you are using an email address, use the instructions on https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx. If your Windows login is not your email address, you can use the instructions below to reset your password. This process will erase any data on your system.

Use the following steps to reset Windows 8 or 8.1

1. From the login screen, click the power icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
2. While holding Shift, click Restart.
3. Click Troubleshoot.
4. Click Reset Your PC.
5. Click Next.
6. The system will reboot and begin Preparing to Reset the PC.
7. At the Reset your PC screen, click Just remove my files.
8. Click Reset.
