I was excited to learn the Aspire V17 Nitro has been updated to include 802.11AC WiFi, and was ready to order until I went over the specs again and discovered that this model does not have keyboard backlighting. In fact, according to specs on your website, it appears NONE of the new 17 inch Nitros have keyboard backlighting... even though the older version did and the newer 15 inch models still do. What's up with that?? I will not buy a laptop without keyboard backlighting. Thanks

According to Newegg, the VN7-791G-74SH has a backlit keyboard.

Actually... no, it doesn't. If you look at the specs tab, it shows just like the others:

Where it says, "Backlit Keyboard", the value is: "Non-backlit".

However, for some of the older models, the specs show "non-backlit" as well, but users in the QA section who were confused about this also were informed by owners that it does indeed have a backlit keyboard.

ACER sould do something to clear up the confusion... I understand this happening on Newegg's site, but the information on Acer's own site should be corrected. Especially when the 15 inch models clearly have "backlit keyboard" in the specs while the 17 inch models do not. When you specifly "backlit keyboard" in the filter list, all of the 17 inch models are excluded.

Wow! I have anAspire V17 Nitro and I can't get the backlit keyboard to turn OFF.If I use F9 it turns off for awhile but then turns back on.

Is there a way to change the defauly settings to "non backlit"  for the keyboard?

I love the computer but I HATE the backlit keyboard. The red lights creep me out.
