I bought a B286HK 4K monitor. It will only display 1920x1080. How do I get it to display 3840x2160.  I have a Dell desktop with ATI Radeon HD 4200 (driver updated)  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

    jackebel,

I do not think that the integrated graphics chipset you are using supports that resolution.

Jackel answered your question. I will emphasize that you can only get good 4K resolution through a reasonable high end video card capable of meeting those specs. Integrated graphic cards like the one you have, cannot display 4K.
Also, at the time, you can only get 4K without lag through the DisplayPort connection, and only through that connection. You can display 4K with the HDMI port but your screnn will lag and be very slow. That is because, as of right now, the HDMI port is only capable of displaying 4K resolution at 30 hz. You need at least 60 hz to have an enjoyable 4K experience. DisplayPort 1.2 is able to do 4K at 60 hz.
