I can see the settings buttons, but I can't see any logic in what happens when I press a button. With each key that I have pressed, a quick access screen comes up first, but I can't use the sliders to do anything - either by touching the screen or using the keyboard cursor keys. The quick access screen times out before I can try very much.

    Shingay,

If you haven't looked over the user manual for ths unit yet, please do, it typically will tell you what buttons do what and how to navigate the OSD. If that doesn't work could you please provide the specific monitor that you are using so we can see what we can help with?

    My monitor is an S240HL.

Yes, I did read through the Quick Guide (3 sides of A5 + umpteen sides of other languages) and the Warrantee booklet, and searched the CD supplied. The Quick Guide says that there are 6 buons: Power On/Off, Plus and Minus arrows, MENU, AUTO and an Empowering Key. There are actually five buttons. Under the Specification heading in the Quick Guide are listed 7 buttons: Power, Left, Right, MENU/ENTER, Auto/Exit, Empowering and Input. The spec page also lists the 21 functions that are provided by these buttons.

There is no illustration and I located the buttons by feeling around the bezel.

I have given up trying to make sense of this and would be grateful if you could provide some pointers.

    Shingay,

Here is a direct link to download a user manual, not a quick start guide, which might help out: S240HL User Manual

It has pictures that should help you see what is where and what buttons to press.

    Thank you Acer Justin,

Having access to the Operating Manual provides (almost) enough information to be able to make adjustments.  I say almost as there is still no illustration showing where the buttons are and their order, nor does it define the acronim OSD (On Screen Display?) which I don't think is in universal use. If only Acer had included the Operating Manual on the CD, I wouldn't have had to contact the forum.

When I have some free time I will have to write an addendum to the manual as, now I've passed 70, I shall forget how this works if ever I need to change any settings.

Thanks once agin for your help.
