I aquired a used Aspire One and need help with choosing the correct RAM upgrade.

I aquired a used Aspire One. On the unit the model number is listed as AO532h-2588. When I enter the S/N and look it up on the Acer site it is listed as AO532h-2Db. I want to upgrade RAM to 2GB. Old model, so trying to keep it inexpensive. I see 200-Pin DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 SODIMM as common spec given as far as RAM goes. Even across different PC products. Is that all I need to look for? Does the appended -2588 or -2Db difference matter when considering correct choice? Thanks for your assistance!

    I need to stick with 200-Pin DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 SODIMM? Yes

But I can go up to 800 MHz. Good. Is PC2-5300 and SODIMM critical to look for? No but it will be worst performing (little).

    Look at the Crucial link.

  • Hello,

Look at the S/N in the bios setup utility (safer) and give me the first ten characters of this one. Only the first ten characters.

Serial Number in the Bios Setup Utility: LUSAL0D277     Thanks!

  • You have an Aspire One 532H-2588 (100% sure) under Windows 7 starter 32 bits (supports up to 2Gb of memory).

    Memory specifications:

    DDR2 - 667 or 800MHz

    Example:
