My Acer monitor goes blank after a few minutes even if I am watching videos or reading or doing other things with no mouse moves or keyboard clicks.

How do I change this setting.

    BarbaraHolmes,

You would need to adjust the screensaver settings on the system that is connected to the monitor. You can follow the steps here on how to adjust it to your needs:

Change your screen saver in Windows 7

Windows 8: Get started with themes

No. That is not it. The screensaver doesn't ever come on because it is the MONITOR itself that goes into sleep mode. It is not the screensaver. The monitor sleeps every 10 minutes.

    BarbaraHolmes,

Displays go into sleep mode after no activity (mouse or keyboard use) from the PC after a set amount of time, I believe by default that timer is set to 10 or 15 minutes. In order to prevent the monitor itself from going into sleep mode from lack of activity you have to go and adjust the screensaver settings in Windows itself. Please use the links I provided to go through the settings and see if you are able to achieve the desired results.

I wanted to know if Barb's issue resolved, because I have the same problem.  I have already adjusted the screen saver settings; that does not work.
