Acer Liquid E700 suddenly changes time and date without warning.

My Acer Liquid E700 has changed its date suddenly to 2 weeks in the future and to a time 8 hours in advance. 

In that same error, I can send text messages, but they are not shown. Also when I receive text messages I get a notification, but when I want to read it in the text app, it has disappeared, nowhere to be found.

Time is synced by network provider or GPS signal, probably something went wrong.

i would try to reboot it and use a data connection to let time sync.

That's what I tried, but time nor date synced back to normal. Text messages still disappeared into nowhere. 

The only thing that has helped was setting the phone back to factory settings, but this is not an ideal solution as I lost a lot of texts and numbers both times. I have this phone for about 6 months now, and it already happened to me twice.

by the way i suggest you to sync your contact with a Google account, so you will never loose a phone number even if you change smartphone model.

 

if it will happen again, can you set date & time manually.

settings/ date & time

tap on automatic date & time, turn off the automatic sync, turn off also automatic time zone and set time and date manually.
