Acer iconic w4-820 tablet battery progress problem

Purchased acer iconia w4-820 32GB tablet.

Almost one month completed, no problems.

But suddenly battery problems occured.

 

i.e. If battery level indicator shows 10% , then i plugin the charger, then battery level indicator progress shows normally increasing. After reaching 95%, removed the charger, and used the tab 1-2 hours, still battery level indicator shows 95%. Then after within 10-20 minutes, it suddenly shows the battery level indicator 0%, and shutdowns immediately.

 

These problem suffers me last 2 days.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

There are two things that can affect the battery indication, configuration and hardware. The configuration is done automatically while going through normal charge/discharge cycles. You can try charging fully then running on battery until it shuts down, the repeating three or four times. If the issues clear up then the problem was corrupted configuration and everything is fine.

 

If cycling doesn't make any difference then the issue is likely to be hardware, either a faulty battery or faulty sensors. Either way means a trip to Acer for repair. Make sure you back everything up before sending it out, it's liable to come back with the default build back.
