I don't think I would take the chance. That is too big of a gap to me.

No dont use an other power supply you will pop your system , look for the right power supply with the correct voltages , you battery might suffer even your hardware might suffer if you dont have the correcty power supply

  • The replacement PSU should work without any issues at all.

Remember that the voltage is important and must meet the requirement. In this case, 19V.
The amp rating must be equal to or greater. Your original appears to be 3.24A. As your replacement can provide 4.74A then this simply means that your have extra available.

If 3.24A is what your machine draws then, even with a greater capacity PSU, it will contine to draw 3.24A. Think of it as the PSU 'pushes' volts (so MUST be correct) but the machine 'pulls' amps (so must be >= to machine requirement).

Your replacement PSU, having a greater capacity, would likely run cooler than your original.

Also, think about your 'standard' tower PC. Generally we fit far higher capacity PSUs so that we have plenty of power available should we add additional components etc. No harm is caused in the interim.

Another example might be an auto bulb. A car lead acid battery is capable of providing hundreds of amps but if we connect a 12volt 2amp bulb across it, it is fine. You won't see hundreds of amps passing through the 2amp bulb. However, connect a 3volt bulb and it's not!
So, ensure voltage is correct and amperage is equal to or greater.
