Acer V5-573 does not start. Sometimes starts for 2 seconds.

I have a problem with my Acer V5-573, 6 months old.

Some days ago it did not start when pressing the start button. I removed the charger and tried again, still nothing. Then i removed the backside to get access to the battery. I removed the battery and tried connecting just the charger.

That causes the laptop to start for 2 seconds like normally, the fans start for like 1 second and then just shuts down and the start button wont work again. This happens every time I connect the charger and it's off battery.

Sometimes when I press the start button and works and starts like it should and then at a random time it shuts down once again. Mostly it just doesnt react to the start button.

I haven't replaced or modified the original hardware.

Any ideas?

    Jyrks,

Thanks for the update. Based on what you are saying, it does sound like there might be a hardware issue. I would suggest contacting Acer Technical Support and having your unit set up for service.

    Hi Jyrks,

This can be a hardware problem. Have you tried to do a power reset? http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13677#_ga=1.24332857.20636102.1421881899

Then enter the BIOS by pressing F2 and verify if it stays on in the BIOS, if not so then I would recommend calling the warranty for the log to revision as the problem may be hardware.

    Jyrks,

Do you see a charging light at all on your notebook? If you don't, there is definitely a problem and you should contact Acer Technical Support.

If you do, I would suggest contacting them to see about getting a replacement power adapter, it could be defective. Should that fail, I think that service would be your next option.

The charging light does light up when I connect the charger and shows that the battery is full and if it has stayed unused, it turns orange first (charging) and then turns to blue (full).

At the moment my laptop started again, I will try the power reset once it shuts itself down again and does not start.

This morning the laptop didn't start, so I tried the power reset, but it did not work.

Also what I noticed is that when I keep the lid open and having pressed the start button it starts itself at some point, can take hours though.

I sent my laptop to service and it appeared that there was a problem with the motherboard. The motherboard was replaced. So if anyone experiences the same issue, it might be your motherboard.
