Hi, My DVD Drive fails to burn ISOs in Windows 8.1.

Laptop : - Acer Timeline M5 481GT

I contacted Microsoft Support and they told me to update to latest drivers, and i couldn't find any updates.

I need help in fixing this, thanks.

The error Code I get when burning ISOs is : - 0xC0AA0301

I used the default Windows Disc Image Burner to diagonose the error code.

I have used other Image burning ISos software and they all fail as well, like the popular one IMG burn.

  • Hi,

    Check this out, this should help.
    1.Click StartCollapse this imageExpand this image, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

    Collapse this imageExpand this image If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
    2.Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    Collapse this imageExpand this imageWarning There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before you change the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class value is CDROM.
