I have run into a problem. I tried to run my recovery discs and it did not work out so well. Now the computer will not boot. I keeps running the pre boot check or whatever its called. Giving me the Error PXE-E53: No Boot Filename Received.
As I understand it being an XP OS, over the years, I have had We, Win 98, Vista and 7 upgrades. However its gotten so slow, that you could cook dinner between doing this or that on it.
So it was recommented that I do a full recovery. I did so using the recovery CDs that I made for it. I am sorry to say I don't know what base OS are on them. XP, We, 98, Vista or 7 as it will not boot.
Can somebody get me going in the right direction. I would like to put XP back on it. But I don't have a clean disc. And the fact that XP is slowly expiring, and thus subjects the computer to more and more security problems.
At this time I do not know if I should download a recovery program from the internet. Or if it will even work. I found that Acer or whatever is not supporting XP anymore. So I don't think there is anyway to get the original XP that was put on at the factory, and will accept the user code I have here for it.
Of if that is not possible. I would like to know what what Windows OS I could run on that computer that would not be so dang slow. At this time the only clean OP I have is Vista. I tried to install XP on both of the internal hard drives I have in that computer. And get the same error either way.
All the upgrades to windows I've put on this computer over the years, have all been oked by the upgrade check program from windows. But others tell me that T6520 was never intended to run 7. That is partly why it runs so slow, the the hardware was not designed for it. I do know the Emachine does not even reconize the serial number that is on the case. That reminds me, the recovery discs I used never asked me for a key code, it that is normal.
Anybody out the that could help. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
