if i take the update or upgrade from android 4.2 to android 4.4.2 is that kitkat?

i have acer a3 a10 tablet, it came with android 4.2, i've got notifications for updates or upgrades and now it shows that the version is 4.4.2 is that kitkat?  i was also wondering if that will cause problems because it didn't originally come with that version?

    Yes, any of the 4.4 versions are KitKat. Various people have had issues with the 4.4 upgrade, especially if you are using some of the functions that Google no longer allows. I believe most of the issues people saw initially have been cleared up by subsequent updates. I wouldn't br surprised if you weren't offered another upgrade to 4.4.4 within a few days of installing 4.4.2.

    I have been waiting to take the Kit Kat update because of all the issues that have been reported. So is this a good time to take the update? I am cautious because I really don't want any problems.
