Windows 7 on Acer Aspire ES1?

Hello,

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a Acer Aspire ES1 laptop, however I'm unable to find the SATA/AHCI driver to use in the installation (so Windows 7 can see the hard drive).

Have anyone done this?, or know where I may find this driver?

Regards,

Martin

If you can find the chipset driver it is in there, or get it from Intel.

I found a lot of diffrent drivers for the "Intel(R) Celeron(R) processor N- and J-series AHCI - 0F23", they can be loaded in the Windows 7 driver installation step, but nither of them makes the hardrive visible and avalible to install.

I also tried to switch the BIOS HD mode to Legacy, still with no change.

Have you tried setting the bios to IDE?

You can also try formatting and assignong a drive letter on another computer before you put it in the laptop.

IDE is not possible, only ACHI and Legacy is avalible.

I'll try formatting and assigning a drive letter before starting the installation, thanks for the hint.

You can't change SATA to IDE?

No, I can only change "Boot Mode" between UEFI and Legacy.

I see no SATA options in the BIOS.

Hi. Did you manage to get it done?

I'm trying to install Win7 on the same laptop but I keep getting this error:

"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing."

You have to integrate USB driver, simply download and use Intel Tool:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility

After Windows 7 installation, some devices need drivers and I'm not able to get all ....and if I use Win8 driver the system crashes .....

Windows 10, even with an SSD (I've added a Samsung SSD) and 4Gb Ram, is not so fast .....
