I have plugged my HDMI cord into the HDMI out and have gone to the control pannel and selected extend these displays but my second monitor keeps saying no cord plugged in. Do i need to use a VGA? The 5600U doesnt have that? HELP!

You may check once more if your have connected the cable to the HDMI-in or out port, the HDMI-out is next to the USB port, you may also check the OSD buttons at the right side of your computer

Right-click on the desktop and choose Screen resolution. Choose the monitor that you want to set as the primary monitor and check Make this my main display, then press Apply and OK to change the setting.  If you want to extend your desktop to the second monitor, select the secondary monitor, then set it to Extend or Clone, and apply your change.

Have you checked the OSD buttons at the right side of your computer?

Is your computer shipped with windows 7 or 8?

Have you checked the cable with any other computer?
