5742G Upgrades

Hello,

 

I'm looking into upgrading my Acer Aspire 5742G.  So far I've upgraded the RAM to 8GB DDR3 PC3-10600S.  I've also ordered a 12.7mm Optical HDD caddy, so I might move my current HDD there and install an SSD for OS.

 

The upgrades I'm most wondering about are:

 

- What wireless cards are supported, and what recommendations for such a card?

- I've heard I can upgrade to an i5 CPU.  Currently I have an i3-370M.  Is this the case, and which CPU is the best upgrade?  I was looking at an i5-460M, possibly the 500M series if the machine supports it

 

Lastly, just to be safe, the 12.7mm optical caddy should work, right?  I know there are two caddy options, 9.5mm and 12.7mm.  I've read the DS8A5SH drive is 12.7mm high, though I'm not 100% sure.
