Dear All,

I've just bought a Mircrosoft Wireless Display Adaptor which uses Miracast technology to help a computer (with Windows 8.1) and Smartphone (with Android 4.2.x and after) project to external screen.

However, my laptop which is Acer Aspire S7 can't find this Wireless Display Adaptor when I search for device. I would like to know whether my laptop supports Miracast or not.

Please give me a solution!

Thank you very much.

Check if your PC supports Miracast

    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Devices.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Devices.)

    2. Tap or click Project. If you see Add a wireless display, your PC supports Miracast.

    Thanks Philetus,

I've tried that. But I can't the the option "add a wireless display" but a list of "PC screen only", " Duplicate", "Extend", "Second Screen Only".

I upgraded my OS to Windows 8.1, I've tried to update Wireless driver with a hope that it will work.

I don't know much about Miracast, but this caught my eye:

Miracast connections are formed using Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Wi-Fi Direct®, so access to a Wi-Fi® network is not needed – the ability to connect is inside Miracast-certified devices. - See more at: http://www.wi-fi.org/discover-wi-fi/wi-fi-certified-miracast
