Acer XC605 graphics upgrade

Just bought an Acer XC-605 with i5-44460, 8gb ram and the standard Intel 4600 graphics. I have the GT440 card from my last PC, which I appreciate is a low-mid range card, but will I be able to install this in the Acer - 1. with the existing pwer supply, and 2. without invalidating the warranty?

Thanks...

  • Hi,
The Unit will normally have a 400-500 Watts PSU, just check with the VGA Card if that is suffecient, if yes then you are good to go.

I don't believe that the advice below was correct. I think the ax605 has a 220 watt PSU.  Two other questions come to mind though, is your old card a low profile card that will fit in the ax605? And second, why would you want to do this, the integrated card on your chip is rated almost the same as the gt440.
