w3-830 talet reset pin hole - what exactly does it do?

Is it the same as holding power button for 20-30 sec until the tablet shuts down and then pressing it again? Everywhere it is called a hardware reset. Will pressing on that pin hole have any impact on bios like a paasword clearing? Would be nice to know beforehand.

    A reset doesn't quite have the full effect of a power cycle, but does do more then a ctrl-alt-del type. The button behind that pin hole sends a reset signal to the motherboard, which stops everything running and restarts from scratch. It can be a little bit dangerous if you hit it while the OS is writing something important to the drive, but it can be quite helpful if things are stuck. It's faster than a full power cycle since you don't have to wait 30 seconds...
