My Acer Iconia W4-820 Tablet pre installed with windows 8.1 & recently i bought it and found some problem in handling (screen off function) so i tried many solutions and ended up in factory reset and the i have installed few free apps from windows store (Youtube search & download, wintube) & Office 365 and ccleaner and again i restored it to a previous date, now the problem started i reinstalled the free apps again, but they are not working, I didnt create any startup disc is it necessary, will it be a problem resetting again but i found my c drive file size increses and now i have only 8 gb left, also is there any way i can free up more space in the c drive.

Prblems: 1. Apps already installed are not working.  2. Can i increase my c drive space ?  3. Office 365 not opening.

4. Should i have to create startup USB drive ? 5. Resetting frequently to factory reset, will it affect the performance of the tablet ?

Please help me,

Murali.

You might find a "windows.old" folder on your C drive. This holds the data and applications that were there before the reset. You might look in there to see if anything could be deleted. once you have the space, try a Windows refresh and see if the apps will install abd run correctly afterwards.

regarding "screen-off" feature - this is big difference between a tablet and a laptop. there is no way to turn it off longer than 3 minutes without shutting down internet connectiion and all drives. some background programs continue offline. this was a big dissapointment for me. but this was designed to save battery this way.

there are numerous ways to clean up disk space (search the forum and internet), you can view app sizes in pc settings. turn the hybernation off, too. for me ccleaner always does a good cleaning job. but if your apps don't start up (try re-installing and then re-booting), thats a problem. check your system with malwarebytes.
