my am3470 became sluggish and nothing i tried helped. after several years of not screwing with it, i finally went into the bios setup and overclocked the cpu from 100 to 105...seemed safe enough. upon restart, the unit did nothing beyond showing the blue "power" light and running the cpu fan.the hdd was swapped to another unit...no joy. a replacement hdd in the aspire yielded the same result. any advise would be appreciated. short of a new mobo, i am at a lose....

thanx everyone

are you able to boot to BIOS?

if so, please load default options or  load optimal settings, normally this settings are on save & exit tab; then try to boot.

it will not boot at all...as stated...the blue light within the power button comes on and the cpu fan comes up to idle and that is it...no display, nothing.

i wish i knew more and could reset the bios but even removing the battery and moving the cmos jumper yielded no result.

thanx for taking time to take a crack at just the same.

Disconnect HDD, ram sticks, DVD then try to boot to BIOS.

if it can't boot, put back 1 ram stick and try again.
