TravelMate issue, please help

Hello,

I have been using my Acer TravelMate P633-M-6639 since late January of 2014. This machine has been rock solid and reliable. Tonight after using my machine for about 10 minutes, it had a bad freeze. The sound on my speakers was buzzing and the screen had strange colored video distortions. I shut the system down with the power button as this was the only way to get out and then I turned it back on. So far the system has been running normally.

What was this? Reliability is #1 for me and I cannot shake this from my mind. The system is running fine so far but I am left disturbed and frustrated by this.

Just a glitch of the goofy world of technology or cause for concern?

By the way, I have not modified the system in any way.

Being that I am in a very cold and dry climate right now. Acer support recommended that I disconnect all power and devices and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to drain static.
