Hello All,

I am a new owner of an Veriton vx2631-ur12, (slim desktop) i5.

I am interested to upgrade my graphics processor to something better than the out of the box Intel4600 integrated GPU. I am pretty much a non-techie however, and I am at a loss when it comes to finding out what cards are compatible with this machine. If anyone could help me by guiding me to somewhere that I could find the answers as to what I can reasonably expect to install without taxing my computer. It has 220 W of power I believe.

I purchased the Veriton primarily for schoolwork and netflix, however I would like to be able to play some games and while I understand that it is not a gaming machine as such, I was hoping I could upgrade the graphics to at least be able to play a game that has these minimum requirements:

  • CPU that supports SSE2
  • GPU
    • with 256 MB VRAM or more
    • that supports Shader Model 3
    • that supports DirectX 9.0c

I wonder if something like this would work?

      PowerColor ATI Radeon HD5450 1 GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card
Thank you for any help you could offer to me.

    Hello Rich,

This graphic board will work on your desktop but you'll have to chance the PSU (350~400 watts).

Be careful your desktop is under warranty.
