Battery Usage on Aspire 7741G Notebook.

I have had my Aspire 7741G Notebook for a few years now and wonder whether anyone can proovide information on battery usage.

 

Is the CMOS battery able to be changed when it expires?

 

Is the CMOS battery in constant use irrespective of whether the Notebook has its main battery fitted or is connected to the mains supply?

 

Is there any way to prolong the life of the CMOS battery?

Hello,

 

The lifecycle of the battery is about 3 or 5 years. It supplies the "bios memory" (CMOS). You can check the voltage with a small hardware monitor like HWMonitor. Watch this video if you want to change it (CR2032).

Thanks for the link.  Do you know if the CMOS battery is in use all the time or whether it is bypassed if there is a live mains connection or a laptop battery fitted.
