how do i install new drivers for able to use my dvd player on my new Aspire V15 touch laptop?

i just bougth the new laptop model Aspire V15 touch. so i've tried on multiple dvd and inserts it into the dvd player and played it but got this error message "THIS FILE'S FORMAT IS UNSUPPORTED" from the Acer Video Player. when i tried to contact the outside tech. support co. they said i need to download the new driver to fix this problem. please help on how to download this new drivers for the dvd player. thx

    Download the VLC player from the below link and you should be able to run the DVD player:

    For your question, you can use Acer video player to play different video formats except CD/DVD.

    The table below lists the supported video formats.

     

    Windows Video (.asf, .wmv, .wm, .avi)

    MPEG-1 (.mpeg, .mpg, .DAT, .mpe, .m1v, .m2v, .vob, .vro) 

    MPEG-4 (.mp4, divx, .div, .3gpp, .3gp2, .mp4v) 

    Quick Time Movie (.mov) 

    Matroska Video (.mkv) 

    Flash Video (.flv)

    Subtitles: SRT (text)
