Virgin wifi unstable

Hi  I have an acer aspire E1-531 which came with windows 8. We had it changed to windows 7.

We are getting unstable/limited wireless and can't access internet. Sometimes all is well for a few days and then limited again. We have had virgin techs round on several occasions the signal we are getting in the house is strong and the laptop has been set to auto choosing the best channel. I can access internet on my phone and on the ipad. So I'm assuming its something within the laptop. Our tech person checked out the laptop earlier in the year and the only way he could get us a signal was via a dongle, now even with the dongle we are getting the problem.

 

Anyone out there had the same problem?

If you haven't already went to our Acer support site and downloaded the drivers for the wireless card I would recommend you try that. Here is a link to the page, Acer UK Drivers and Manuals

 

You will need to click the drop down box and make sure you select the correct operating system that you loaded on to the unit sothe proper drivers will be pulled up.
